Bluegrass Ambassadors The Po’ Ramblin’ Boys Light Up the Glimmerglass Pavilion

What an unforgettable kickoff to the 2026–2027 Cooperstown Concerts!

On a warm September afternoon, music lovers gathered at the beautiful Glimmerglass Festival Pavilion for the some of the finest bluegrass music out of Nashville, Tennessee with The Po’ Ramblin’ Boys. The event brought together the magic of live music and the warmth of community in the most picturesque setting imaginable.

Check out photos and videos below.

The season opener featured one of bluegrass music’s finest bands today with the Grammy-nominated Po’ Ramblin’ Boys, whose members also have several individual awards from the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA). The band wasted no time getting into it, kicking off the show with several of their original tunes without taking a break between songs.

Led by mandolinist C.J. Lewandowski, the band ran through two sets of their collection of songs from several albums spanning a dozen years as a band. Highlights included “Pardon Me”, the first single released off their new album Welcome To The Club, “Are You Homesick in Carolina” off their first album Back To The Mountains, the beautiful but somber ballad “Hickory, Walnut and Pine”, and their cover of East Bound and Down, a song made famous by the Smokey and the Bandit movie.

It was an unforgettable afternoon of string mastery, multi-part vocal harmonies and down-home bluegrass music that ended with an extended standing ovation.
