YOUR HOME FOR LIVE MUSIC IN COOPERSTOWN, NEW YORK

American Girl Heats Up the Night at
Another Sold-out Winter Carnival Concert

American Girl celebrated the music of Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers, bringing down the house at its sold-out concert in Cooperstown, with a high-energy show dedicated to one of rock & roll’s best. The February 7 show was the second in the Winter Carnival Concerts double-header presented by Cooperstown Concerts at The Otesaga Hotel.

From the opening, iconic notes of Jammin’ Me into the love anthem Listen to Her Heart, we knew we were in for a great night of heartland rock, hook-laden melodies, and stories full of grit, heart, and hope.

Drawing from an impressive playlist, the six-piece band played Petty hits spanning decades, from beautiful ballads to songs that served as anthems across generations. The setlist included so many great songs – from I Won’t Back Down, to Refugee, Even the Losers, American Girl, Free Falling, Running Down a Dream, and one that seemed especially suited to our bitter February weather…Don’t Come Around Here No More!

From the first song to the last, American Girl lived up to its reputation as a premiere Tom Petty tribute band. Capturing the unmistakable chemistry of the Heartbreakers, they delivered an authentic, high-energy performance that had us dancing and singing the night away – forgetting the cold outside for a few hours, and perhaps remembering back to a spring day, riding in the car with the windows down and music up, belting out every word to our favorite Petty tune.
