Nashville’s newest bluegrass ambassadors come to The Otesaga Hotel in March
East Nash Grass, one of the hottest young bands in bluegrass today, will light up the stage on Sunday, March 9 as the award-winning musicians bring their hard-driving sound to Cooperstown, 3:00 PM, at The Otesaga Hotel.
Named 2024’s Best New Artist by the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA), East Nash Grass “brings swagger, staggering instrumental abilities, and high energy to every performance.” To buy tickets, go to Cooperstown Concerts.
Called Nashville’s newest bluegrass ambassadors, East Nash Grass is a remarkable ensemble of accomplished, “monster players and performers” from Nashville. The band’s resume includes numerous high-profile award wins and nominations – for both the band and individual members, as well as high-profile gigs including the Grand Ole Opry.
Featuring some of Nashville’s hottest young pickers, the band of musical all-stars includes: James Kee (guitar), Cory Walker (banjo), Harry Clark (mandolin), Gaven Largent (dobro), Maddie Denton – Grand Master Fiddle Champion (fiddle), and Jeff Partin (bass). Several of the band members have been recognized with IBMA awards as Best Instrumentalists, including for banjo, mandolin, fiddle, and resophonic guitar.
The group refined their craft together on intimate stages in East Nashville, while also playing as highly in-demand musicians for some of the biggest names in the genre. With countless performances on Nashville’s East Side, East Nash Grass played small venues purely for the love of music in between touring with larger acts. This shared journey forged a deep bond among the members, evident in their dynamic stage presence and undeniable chemistry.
In addition to being honored by the IBMA, the band has caught the attention of the biggest names in bluegrass music, with rave reviews. “Out of the Wilds of East Nashville came this band of ringers, each of them playing in National high profile Bluegrass bands,” says Grammy-winning artist Jerry Douglas. “The sound they make when they play together rivals that of any of their main gigs…The National high profilers better hang on tight! East Nash Grass is on the move.”
“East Nash Grass is the next generation in bluegrass excellence and Cooperstown Concerts is absolutely thrilled to bring them to our community of music lovers,” said Randy Smith, Cooperstown Concerts President. “Get ready to be blown away by the band’s brilliant musicianship and fast-paced, intricate string playing; rich vocal harmonies; and vivid lyrics that exemplify what it means to be a bluegrass band from Nashville. People who come to this show are in for an exhilarating performance.”
