Award-winning bluegrass band East Nash Grass amazed the audience in Cooperstown on March 9 with their staggering instrumental abilities, hard-driving bluegrass sound, rich vocal harmonies and lyrics, and a lively performance.
One of the hottest young bands in bluegrass today, named 2024’s Best New Artist by the International Bluegrass Music Association, East Nash Grass features musical all-stars and some of Nashville’s hottest young pickers. They’re known as Nashville’s newest bluegrass ambassadors – and now we know why!
People who came to this show were part of something extraordinary, and it was an experience music lovers of all genres won’t forget. With guitarist James Kee as emcee and front man on many numbers, mandolinist Harry Clark adding both colorful anecdotes and spectacular finger picking to the mix, and champion fiddler Maddie Denton kicking up the foot stomping, the band was musically tight with a casual on-stage demeanor, always keeping the audience engaged, enthralled and thoroughly entertained.
“I had an amazing time watching East Nash Grass while visiting town! The musicians were incredibly talented, and the energy was fantastic,” said Dr. Kristina McElhinney, Yarmouth, Maine. “Staying at The Otesaga made the trip even more special, and the venue was absolutely perfect — great atmosphere and acoustics. A truly memorable experience!”
“Cooperstown Concerts pulled off a coup bringing one of the country’s hottest bands—East Nash Grass from Nashville—for a sold-out concert on Sunday in the grand ballroom of the Otesaga. The band played a set list for the ages, wowing all of us with their musical virtuosity, vocal harmonies, and infectious sense of fun. So glad we were there.”

The Great Music Continues in April and May
On Saturday April 5, join us at the beautiful Fenimore Art Museum at 7:30 PM forArcoStrum. Two outrageously talented young musicians make up this dynamic violin-guitar duo, who captivate with their charisma, virtuosity, and dazzling on-stage chemistry. The award-winning duo reimagines classical masterworks, modern rock and Chinese traditional music, “combining inventiveness, pop sensibility and classical virtuosity” for a night of progressive chamber music. This promises to be a very special performance, presented in an intimate 120-seat setting, where every seat offers a great view.
Our 2024-2025 Season Finale Concert & Party is Friday May 2 at the Fenimore Farm & Country Village at 7:30 PM with roots reggae band The Big Takeover, PLUS Jamaican-inspired appetizers and drinks at the venue before the show, bringing the flavors of the Caribbean right to Cooperstown. In partnership with Mel’s at 22 restaurant, Cooperstown Concerts will offer an appetizer buffet at the concert venue (included in your ticket price, with a small donation to the non-profit requested) from 6:00 PM-7:15 PM, and a cash bar will be open for the duration of the event.
Come join us for the show: catch up with friends, explore this new band, and experience more great live music close to home! Buy tickets here.
