This show, featuring Becky Tracy (fiddle, octave fiddle, vocals), Rachel Bell (accordion, vocals), and Rachel Aucoin (piano), offers an intriguing blend of traditional and original music that feels both familiar and refreshingly unique. The trio plays an impressive diversity of styles and a dynamic range of music including energetic Celtic reels, soulful waltzes, gritty French songs, and lively Quebecois tunes.
Eloise & Co. is traditionally a duo featuring the combined creative force of two of the country’s most sought-after traditional musicians, fiddler Becky Tracy and accordionist Rachel Bell.
Becky Tracy is an acclaimed fiddler in the folk world. Her playing is at once emotive, powerful, lyrical, and deeply moving making every performance a rich musical journey. On accordion, Rachel Bell’s synergy with Becky’s fiddle has been called magical, and her playing spans an enormous range of emotion, from nuanced and sensitive to exhilarating and powerful.
Performing on the new album and this concert tour for avec Elodie, Rachel Aucoin joins the group on piano. In fact, Rachel’s middle name is Elodie, and the new release name reflects that it was made with (avec) Elodie. Rachel is a treasured addition to this album and tour. A standout performer in the Quebec traditional music scene, her musicality adds richness, depth, and a different feel, sound, and liveliness to this performance.
Together, the three will delight with their captivating multi-genre music, as they crank out concert and dance music with unbridled energy and soaring beauty. Audience members will find themselves tapping their toes – or leaping to their feet – as Eloise & Co. lights up the room.
