YOUR HOME FOR LIVE MUSIC IN COOPERSTOWN, NEW YORK

Harvest & Rust Headlines Cooperstown Winter Carnival with a Sold-Out Performance

As we start 2025, Cooperstown Concerts celebrates another year of bringing eclectic, live music home to our region. And what a way we kicked off the year, with a sold-out show as music lovers came together to celebrate the iconic music of Neil Young at the Cooperstown’s Winter Carnival Concert on February 1. The show was a night to remember with the amazing band Harvest & Rust, HUGE Neil fans, and an entire experience dedicated to one of rock and roll’s greatest.

Drawing from their impressive playlist, the band performed songs spanning decades of Young’s music, ranging from acoustic ballads to electrifying anthems. Channeling Young’s raw, emotive energy, Harvest & Rust delivered a performance that went far beyond imitation, celebrating the spirit of a living legend.

The first set was a journey of ballads that included an early Powderfinger and hits like Comes A Time, Heart of Gold, The Needle and the Damage Done, Old Man and Harvest Moon, followed by a beautiful version of After the Gold Rush with band member Garrett Lechowski’s solo at the piano. For Helpless, the dance floor was packed with slow dancers and everyone joined in the singalong for the chorus. The band kicked it all the way up to end the set with a raucous version of Southern Man that got the entire audience out of their seats and gave everybody a preview of what was to come after intermission.

Opening the second set with Cinnamon Girl, the band performed many of the hits Young had with his band Crazy Horse including Cortez the Killer, Everybody Knows this Is Nowhere, Cowgirl In the Sand and Hey Hey, My My. Ending the set with Rockin’ in the Free World and the crowd shouting for more, the band sent everyone home with a very memorable encore of Like a Hurricane. Start to finish, Harvest & Rust lived up to their billing as one of the premiere Neil Young tribute bands in the Northeast, delivering a stirring, authentic performance of Neil’s vast catalog – Harvest & Rust is the true Neil Young Experience.

We had a lot of fun. Check out photos below!
