Cooperstown Concerts is thrilled to announce an electrifying night of live jazz and funk music with jamband supergroup LaMP on Friday, March 6, 2026, 7:30 PM at The Otesaga Resort Hotel (60 Lake Street, Cooperstown). LaMP features three powerhouse musicians Russ Lawton, Ray Paczkowski, Scott Metzger. Known for their deep grooves, fearless improvisation, and irresistible dance-floor energy, LaMP promises a night of outstanding musicianship and pure fun – perfect for longtime fans and newcomers alike. Band members Russ Lawton (drums) and Ray Paczkowski (keys) of Vermont are longtime collaborators through the Trey Anastasio Band (TAB) and their duo Soule Monde. They are joined by Brooklyn-based guitar virtuoso Scott Metzger, known for his work with Joe Russo’s Almost Dead (JRAD) and Medeski, Martin, Metzger & Cline (MMMC).
Together, the trio distills decades of road-tested chemistry into tight, instrumental epics. The band’s swirling organ lines, acrobatic guitar melodies, and an unshakeable rhythmic foundation create a sound that is uniquely their own.
The spark for LaMP started one magical night in 2018 at Nectar’s in Burlington, Vermont when Lawton, Paczkowski, and Metzger first took the stage together and created a fresh and free sound, permeated with technical prowess and a deep-pocket punch. That initial performance revealed an immediate alchemy and led to the formation of LaMP, named from the first letters of the members’ surnames. Since then, the band has steadily built momentum through touring, recordings, and word-of-mouth buzz, earning a reputation as a must-see live act and a rising force in the instrumental music scene.
“LaMP is pure joy to experience live. It’s one of those rare bands where the musicianship is world-class, and the vibe is all fun,” said Randy Smith, president of Cooperstown Concerts. “Their energy is infectious, their musicianship is exceptional, and they have a deep connection with the audience. We’re absolutely thrilled to be able to bring this caliber of performers, a venerable supergroup in the jamband community, to our stage. We can’t wait to welcome them to Cooperstown.”
This concert is one stop on the band’s nationwide tour celebrating the release of their acclaimed second studio release, One Of Us. The album showcases LaMP at the top of their game blending jazz and funk with kaleidoscopic grooves, imaginative compositions, and collective improvisation that rewards both close listening and full-on celebration.
