The Mountain Jam Band – A Tribute to The Allman Brothers Band, wasted no time getting the party started when they took the stage at The Otesaga Hotel in Cooperstown, kicking off the Winter Carnival Concerts to a sold-out house on February 6. In their 101st performance together as a band, the highly talented musicians delivered an iconic Allman Brothers Band live experience with signature guitar licks, soaring harmonies, and improvisational magic.
It was an evening of authentic blues, country, and southern soul woven together in an electrifying performance that captured the essence of ABB, with vocals, two drummers, acoustic, electric, and slide guitar, bass guitar, keyboards (piano and organ), and a harmonica bonus.
MJB opened with the beautiful song Little Martha on acoustic guitar before launching into classic, hard-driving Allman Brothers songs, starting with Statesboro Blues, Ain’t Wastin’ Time No More, and Midnight Rider. As promised, they heated up the otherwise cold night, with tight musicianship, extended jams, and a high-energy show that had the crowd moving all night, filling the dance floor right through Whipping Post, which closed the show to huge applause.
What an incredible night – fantastic music, great people, and much more fun than we’ve ever had in February! Check out photos below!
